Esto provoc\u00f3 una sequ\u00eda r\u00edo arriba del valle de Sodo y tuvo un efecto desastroso en la poblaci\u00f3n ind\u00edgena.  De todos los grupos \u00e9tnicos de la zona, los dassenech fueron los m\u00e1s afectados. Depend\u00edan en gran medida del ciclo estacional del r\u00edo y, como pastores semin\u00f3madas, su modo de vida tradicional se hizo insostenible.<\/p>\n<p>Como consecuencia, los hombres j\u00f3venes empezaron a emigrar a Addis Abeba y m\u00e1s all\u00e1.
